A Love Story Worth Reining In

Some love stories just gallop right into your heart, and Taylor and Chad’s August wedding was exactly that. A perfect blend of Minnesota charm and Texas spirit, with just enough country flair to make you want to kick up your boots and stay awhile.

These two are the real deal, horse people through and through, the kind who feel most at home in a pair of boots with a little dust on them. Naturally, I was half expecting a horse or two to trot down the aisle… but alas, no hooves were spotted. Missed opportunity? Maybe. But they still managed to stirrup plenty of western magic with thoughtful horse-inspired decor and a tractor that we absolutely had to climb on for photos.

August in Minnesota came in hot and rowdy. Between the sunshine and the wind that clearly did not RSVP but showed up anyway, it was a day full of movement. Hair was styled to perfection, hats were carefully placed… and then promptly sent flying. Let’s just say a cowboy hat or two decided to make a run for it.

Because of the wind, we kept most of the portraits indoors to protect all that hard-earned glam, and honestly, it gave the whole gallery a cozy, intimate feel. Chad, being a bit camera shy, leaned into candid moments, which turned out to be the sweetest choice. Instead of posed perfection, we captured real laughter, quiet glances, and those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments that feel like home.

As if this day wasn’t already soaring, the venue’s next-door airport added a little unexpected magic. A helicopter and a Cessna plane made their appearances overhead, giving us a couple of those “did that really just happen?” moments.

Taylor and Chad’s wedding was not about perfection, it was about presence. Windblown moments, candid smiles, boots on wood floors, and a whole lot of heart. A love like theirs is something you do not rush. You let it wander, you let it grow, and you hold on tight when it starts to run.

And these two?

They are in it for the long ride.
