Walk Me Through A Typical Family Session
Family photo sessions aim to capture multiple subjects and the special dynamics and relationships within a family. These shoots often take place in outdoor locations that hold sentimental value for the family and provide a relaxed, natural atmosphere for the photo session. These shoots are a lot of fun, and the end result is a collection of images that tell a story and preserve memories for generations to come.
Step 1: Pick A Location, Date & Time
Step 2: Prep outfit choices at home and pack extras for options on location
Step 3: Arrive at location on the day of your shoot 10 minutes early to chat with photographer about ideas
Step 4: Pick the best spot and start taking photos
Step 5: HAVE FUN, pick an activity or some funny poses to bring your family together while we take pictures
Step 6: Celebrate because you have completed a family photo session
All Families Look Different
A family could be a group of 20 people, or just you and your dog! For this reason all family portrait sessions are run by an hourly rate. So no matter how big or small your family is, you get the same amount of time and consideration as everyone else!

Pick An Activity
Selecting an activity to do together for a family session is a great way to get authentic candid photos. Going to get ice cream or roller skating or even just going to collect leaves on a nature walk can provide a natural transition (or respite) between posing for the camera and just letting us naturally stumble into some amazing photos.
