Annie and Jon's Wedding at Earl and Wilson
Annie and Jon’s wedding was one of those days that sticks with you. Held at the charming Earl & Wilson venue in downtown St. Paul, this historic gem set the perfect stage for their November 2023 celebration. The venue itself was a photographer’s dream—exposed beams, brick, and stone that radiated warmth, while light flooded in through the third-floor windows, casting a romantic glow across the room.
Though it was November, we were treated to an unusually warm day, and the fall leaves were still in full, vibrant display. Before the ceremony, we ventured outside to take couple portraits along the city streets. The juxtaposition of the warm hues of the brick, the hustle and bustle of downtown, and the quiet romance of Annie and Jon’s love made for the most magical scenes. Yellow and orange leaves rained down gently as a soft breeze swept through the trees, adding an almost cinematic touch to each photo.
Annie was an absolute joy—so easy to talk to, always making me laugh, and keeping the energy light-hearted and fun. Jon, on the other hand, was more on the shy side, but it was clear how deeply he loved Annie. He had this sweet habit of stealing quiet, tender moments with her whenever they had a second away from the crowd, and capturing those moments on camera felt like a privilege.
Another part of the day that really stood out to me was Annie’s mom. She kept checking in on me, making sure I didn’t need anything, which was so sweet and endearing—especially considering it’s usually my job to anticipate everyone else’s needs as the photographer! But that’s just how the whole day felt: full of love, care, and thoughtfulness from everyone involved.
As the night drew to a close, my husband and I were getting ready to head out, but the guests weren’t ready to let the fun end. They pulled us onto the dance floor, and we stayed to join in the celebration until McDonald’s late-night snacks arrived. Grabbing some fries as we said our goodbyes was the perfect ending to such a fun-filled, heartfelt day.
